Spring, 2008 (March 28-30)Fran Carlin All levels Students will design a contemporary mirror frame in the style of an ancient Turkish mosaic. They will use brilliant colors of mirrored glass to create rhythm and balance in their pieces. Basic mosaic techniques of cutting tisserae and application to the base will be taught. Fran Carlin of Eureka Springs, received her B.S.E. in Art Education from the University of Arkansas. She received on the job training in mosaics from artist James Hubbell at Jardines de los Niņo's, Tijuana, Mexico. Fran has studied at the Studio di Mosaico in Ravenna, Italy and been featured at Art in the Park in Coronado, California. In Eureka Springs she has participated in the Eureka Springs Fall Art Shows, the Eureka Springs Studio Tour, and The Artery of Eureka Springs which showcased her Joan of Arc. |
