Session Four/June 25-29 Suzanne
Sanders-Tourtelot All levels In this class you will learn the 7 different dyeing techniques perfected by the Japanese, including the use of wax. Students will be able to create fantastic pieces of silk suitable for clothing, quilting, or as frame able art. Class time will include practicing the techniques, designing, preparing, dyeing, and processing of silks. No previous experience is needed; even the novice can succeed. Suzanne is a nationally known artist whose fiber art has brought her international acclaim. She is also a teacher for 30+ years, traveling throughout the country teaching her technique. Suzanne’s work is included in the Nissan Chemical Corporation collection, Japan and the Brewer Science Corporation collection, and private collections throughout the United States and South Africa. |
