5 Day Class (1pm-4pm)
Tuition: $110 (includes lab fee)
Materials: $10

Using the basic skills of line drawing with pencil and pen, this class will develop the ability to make both simple and complicated representation of characters. Turning easy circles into expressive faces and boxes into active bodies, anyone can draw the likeness of Charlie Brown from Charles Schultz’s Peanuts or Nickelodeon’s Sponge Bob Squarepants and then invent their own stylized creation. Participants are encouraged to bring in their favorite characters and learn to copy them line for line. This class will focus on making the fundamentals of drawing popular graphics fun for the young artist and help to channel their inner clown/hero into an amusing, productive activity. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see a clever New Yorker magazine cartoon and know the gifted artist!

Chris Fischer has taught elementary art and produced commercial graphics. He was raised on Looney Tunes and Saturday morning television for kids; his favorite cartoon character is without question, Johnny Quest.
