Fall, 2008 (Sept. 12-14)Eleanor Lux All levels In this class students will be learning two important bead stitches, peyote and right angle, using primarily seed beads. The techniques will be pushed to extremes using different threads and different sizes of beads. Students will learn to increase, decrease, add on, shape, cover, and manipulate. While students are creating, color contrast and design will be discussed. At the end of the class each student should have at least one unique little sculpture. Eleanor Lux, local Eureka Springs artist, has several lines of beaded jewelry and her beaded sculptures travel frequently to museums and galleries. Two of her sculptures are in the permanent collection at the Arkansas Art Center, and her work has been published in numerous bead magazines and is included in the book 500 Beaded Objects. |
