Session Nine/August 4-8William R. Derrevere All levels This class is totally "hands on". Students will work with sheet pewter, which is a soft, flexible, white metal that melts at around 500 degrees. Emphasis will be on soldering and welding and developing confidence with the torch. Students will hammer and shape pewter into three-dimensional forms. Die-forming will also be covered, in addition to bonding and forming. William Derrevere resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he has over thirty years of teaching experience at the graduate level at the University of Tulsa. He received his M.F.A. from Western Illinois University where he was the recipient of a Graduate Assistantship. He has won numerous awards for his metal work both privately and publicly. |
