Session Seven/July 21-25

Richard Stephens
Watercolor: Design & Painting

Beginners to Intermediate
Studio
5 Day class (9am-4pm)
Tuition: $275
Materials: $50

This class is an introduction to the basic supplies, materials, and techniques of the medium. It is for all levels, but especially appropriate for beginning to intermediate level painters. There will be lots of one-on-one instruction, demonstrations, and painting time. Richard promises that the class will be intense, but fun!

Richard resides in Hot Springs, Arkansas and has a B.A. in Art from the University of Central Arkansas. He is a signature member of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists, the Southern Watercolor Society, and the Missouri Watercolor Society. Richard has received numerous awards for his work, both as a watercolorist, and in the graphic arts industry. For 13 consecutive years he has appeared in the Mid-Southern Watercolorist Juried Exhibit, and in 2006 he was the Gold Award winner. In 2005, Richard was named as one of the "Top 10 Artists to Watch" by Watercolor Magic Magazine, and was featured in the June, 2007 issue in an article entitled "Planning to Succeed". In this article, Richard focused on "preparation" - the key to painting with active and passionate strokes. Since 1973, he has been the owner of Stephens Commercial Art in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
