From Stencil to Screen (Ages 12-17)

The content of this class revolves around the art of stenciling and its evolution into the silkscreen printing process. Students will become familiar with the techniques of silk screen printing and stencil cutting through hands-on involvement and class participation.

Jamie Tait is the Art Director and Supervisor of the letterpress division of Mok Duck Press in Portland, Oregon. Jamie attended the Kansas City Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri, where he majored in Printmaking, while minoring in Photo-Video-New Media. From 2003 to 2006, he taught English and Art to elementary school children as a part of the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program. Jamie also has a background in window treatment and textile art, and has worked with Mary Tait, Inc. of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
