Session Five/July 7-11Jamie Froelich All levels Learn to create embellished cross shapes and shadow boxes in Jamie's dynamic style. Reinvent the box to an art form. This course will feature daily presentation and discussion periods. The skills that students will learn include: use of a scroll saw to cut simple shapes, sugar form construction, basic painting, paper mache, and 3-dimensional construction. Jamie Froelich, born in Chicago, Illinois, currently resides in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She studied printmaking in Chicago, San Francisco and San Diego. She is currently practicing mixed media, incorporating printmaking, painting, and 3-dimensional construction. Over the course of her life, she has endeavored to try a variety of professions finally choosing the study of molecular biology, where she worked as research scientist in San Diego, California for 16 years. However, through all of her life's adventures and occupations, she was not able to let go of her first love, art. Recently, she resigned her position as a scientist and moved from California to Arkansas in order to live as an artist fulltime. |
