Session Two/June 9-13Vicki Hardcastle All levels Primitive rug hooking is a true folk art. Students will start with the backing to design a one-of-a-kind rug. Fibers of all kinds can be used, with wool being a mainstay. Textured and hand-dyed wool will help students to obtain the inspiration they need to bring their projects to life. Students will also be dyeing wool in class. Vickie, of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma where she majored in Art with a minor in Art History. She is a member of the AFTA National Rug Hooking Association and the Shady Ladies Doll Club. She has appeared in both Native American and National Art shows and would like to bring back the art of primitive rug hooking. |
