Session One/June 2-6Marlene Gremillion All levels This is a fun workshop where students color Oriental papers and let them dry. Then these papers are cut and torn into a composition using design principles and gluing them to a support of watercolor paper. Working experimentally and intuitively by reacting to the textures created, students will pull the composition together completing the abstract collage that has a focal area by adding extra touches with mixed media; such as colored pencils, oil pastels, water media paint (transparent and opaque), lifting, scratching, collaging, and rearranging, or whatever it takes to make a good finished piece. Marlene Gremillion is a resident of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and is also a registered nurse. She is a signature member of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists and the Louisiana Watercolor Society. She is also a charter member of the Ouachita River Art Guild in West Monroe, Louisiana, and a member of Brush Strokes in Hot Springs Village. Guilds and galleries statewide represent her. |
